Bowness Secret Solway Guided Walking Tour
local history and stories associated with the village. Summer evenings might be particularly nice for the sunsets on this walk. Will take 1.5 to 2 hours depending how fast folks walk.
A Full Day Secret Solway Guided Tour
(In vehicle)
6 – 7 Hours including a driver. This tour can be a set tour itinerary, or a tour itinerary designed to suit the specific interest of your clients. A half day option is available.
A set tour would take in layers of local Solway history starting with the last ice age and including Romans, Vikings, Normans, Reivers, early transport links, Industrialisation, and the impact of the World Wars. As well as the history I will share lots of local stories and visit different Solway built and natural heritage sites in these tours.
A Luxury version of the Full Day Tour
Might include a Solway food themed or pub meal at the Drovers Rest at Monkhill – the location of the Monkhill pub fits well for a full day tour itinerary of the area from Bowness on Solway.
Maximum group size – will depend on the vehicle and Covid regulations for groups at the time.
